Czech-born saxophonist and singer Annie Posmourna joined the BA (Hons) Music Promotion degree with a strong desire to learn about the music business, music promotion and with the hope to carve out a long-lasting career in music.
During her time at Southampton Solent University, Annie worked with numerous musicians, producers, DJs, journalists and promoters from across the Popular Music Scheme. She used the experiences and knowledge she gained during her degree to establish her own corporate entertainments company, Annie007.com, with her final year project focusing on a business model for her future career aspirations.
Annie.007.com currently represents and promotes Annie’s talents as a performing artist, though Annie intends to develop the business into a fully-fledged management and artist agency in the near future. To further this, she has now begun her studies towards an MA in Cultural and Arts Management.

For Annie, the best things about the Music Promotion course were the way lecturers teach at Solent University. She explains: "They are all very passionate about the topics of music business industry and music history. The whole study experience was very stimulating”.
Annie’s advice? “If you want to make it within music industry, you have to believe in what you want to achieve, but also know when is time to move on if it is not working out. So sharp instinct, quick but wise decision making is crucial. To be a good businesswoman, I need to be very trustworthy, communicative, hardworking, ambitious and self-critical. Aside from being reliable, my biggest responsibility as a musician is rather simple: to entertain people”.
