Dr Seuss' books have sparked the imagination of children around the world, Mike Myers brought his characters to life on the big screen and Southampton Solent University reached out to children and adults alike with 'Seussical the Musical.'

It follows several of Dr Seuss' most popular characters like 'the Cat in the Hat' as he and the young Jojo embark on an enchanting journey through the jungle of Nool, following the adventures of Horton the Elephant as he tries to save the residents of WHO, the "tiniest planet in the sky."

Seussical the Musical is a blend of Dr Seuss' most famous works and was such a hit when performed by Solent University year two performance students that it was back for six more performances on the first three Saturdays in March 2008.

Director, John Barlow, Principal lecturer in Film, Television and Performance said:

"I was delighted that due to popular demand we were able to perform Seussical again. It is a credit to the dynamic performance of the level 2 students and it gave us an opportunity to lead the wider community into the magical world of Dr Seuss who wanted to inspire people, just as we do here at Solent."
