BA (Hons) Popular Music & Record Production course leader Paul Rutter, invited Carl Palmer to Solent who was subsequently made a Visiting Fellow by the University. Carl is one third of progressive rock supergroup Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Carl guested for music students discussing his long career in the music industry and the realities of business practice as a performer. A demonstration of his drumming dexterity followed. UK Music CEO ambassador and successful music artist Feargal Sharkey visited the music department to impart knowledge concerning current music industry trends. Feargals talk for the music scheme's 'Working In The music Industry' Unit, covered many aspects and current issues in the world music industry. Our very own visiting Professor, Trevor Horn, has been hitting the music headlines of late. This is due to his Production work on Robbie Williams new hit album, much of which was produced by Trevor in London.
