Biography

Trevor Horn is regarded as one of the best music producers in the country. His career originally began in 1977 with The Buggles, where he co-wrote and performed their number one hit 'Video Killed the Radio Star' which significantly became the first video ever to be aired on MTV. He subsequently left the band to join Yes but this acquaintance only lasted seven months before Horn felt his desire to purely produce tracks outweighed his desire to perform.

Horn's first production success came with the pop band Dollar in the early eighties, and he followed this up with the production of the number one album The Lexicon of Love from ABC which has since been voted in the top 100 albums of all time.

By the mid eighties Horn had discovered and signed Frankie goes to Hollywood, and with their unique blend of dance-pop and controversy, the Liverpudlians stormed the British singles chart, collecting three number ones with their first three releases; Relax, Two Tribes and The Power of Love.

Renowned for his use of the newest technology available to the industry, Horn pioneered electronic and synthesized music in the UK and with his record label ZTT he went onto produce work for some of the biggest names in recent music history including Cher, Tom Jones, Mike Oldfield, Seal, Tina Turner, Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart.

Undoubtedly one of the British music industry's most consistent performers and achievers it was with great delight that he accepted an invitation to visit and open our new recording studios and participated in a question and answer session with students.
