Magazine and websites

Students on the course are encouraged to explore work experience opportunities within online, print and broadcast music press environments.

This work experience ranges from work placements to contributing media content as a freelance journalist.

Students of Popular Music Journalism| have enjoyed placements at NME, Mixmag, les Inrockuptibles (France), DJ and many more. 

Our students have also contributed to a variety of magazines and websites, including NME, Radio NRJ (France), Regiomusik (Germany), DJ, Big Cheese, Virgin.net, K Mag, Underground Music, The Joiners Magazine and The Sound.

Music industries

A major source of income for professional music journalists comes from writing for the music industries. Our students are also supported and encouraged to find placements and explore opportunities within areas such as PR, marketing and promotion.

The companies where our students have enjoyed work placements include Division PR, City Slang (Berlin), Warner Music, Institut Français.
