"Being a creative course, Screenwriting is different from a lot of other degrees. Whereas other degrees have a clearly outlined syllabus, our degree is very
much a matter of taking our education in whichever creative direction we want to, with the course structured to help us learn effectively while we create
our own work.
"During the first year we've been encouraged to develop our own ideas extensively, and been given the opportunities to have our scripts workshopped,
which has been an invaluable learning tool that we are aiming to use again next year. It's certainly been an experience so far, and next year we get to move into more specialised genre units, so I'm looking forward to that.
"The Uni itself is ideally placed to provide a stable learning environment for us. We're a stone's throw from Southampton city centre, which makes such things such as shopping, travel links and the nightlife easy to access and nothing beats trawling over a 30 page script in a pub with a pint of coke in your hand.
"Being from outside Hampshire I've found that being close to Southampton Central train station has proven to be quite handy when I've wanted to go home for a weekend.”
