Course overview
The BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching degree at Southampton Solent University demonstrates the relationship between the coaching process and sport science. It emphasises how coaching, testing and training principles can inform both participation and high-performance coaching, and provides opportunities for you to develop expertise and qualifications in coaching individuals and teams.
The wide range of options allows you to specialise in areas relevant to your particular interests and career aspirations. You can also achieve a range of National Governing Body coaching qualifications.
You will benefit from access to the University's wide range of sporting facilities, including sports halls, outdoor watersports centre, the city's dry ski slope, athletics track, and swimming and diving facilities. You will also benefit from using the multimillion pound Sport Science laboratories that have been described by Gerry Sutcliffe (Sports Minister 2009) as “world class facilities”.
