"I am a physically disabled student and I need considerable support for both academic and personal needs.
"I was attracted to Solent for a number of reasons. When I met with the staff during the open day I was very impressed by their attitude. They clearly understood my needs, they were not fazed and they were very accommodating.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the course; it was a good mixture of practical and theory work and several of the assignments were group based. This helped me to make many friends, as we worked together on a variety of challenging projects. I was also well supported by the University’s Study Assistance Department and made many friends amongst the study assistants.
"I lived in student halls in adapted accommodation. The Hall Manager was very understanding and helpful. She worked hard to ensure that the accommodation met both my individual needs and those of the other disabled students.
"I also receive a Lisa Wilson scholarship which helped fund additional support items. The Wilson family took time to get to know all the recipients and it made me feel valued."
