“Our Portfolio includes a wide range of courses: the BA (Hons) International Business Management; the BA (Hons) International Business Management and English; the Language Foundation Year; the International Foundation Certificate - both with Business and Media or Technology pathways; Pre-sessional English courses; and full-cost courses. These serve not just the Faculty of Business, Sport and Enterprise, but the University as a whole.
You can learn a foreign language on the Solent International Language Programme (SILP) as part of your course of study under the University ‘Curriculum Plus’ scheme. The languages we currently offer include Chinese (introductory), and English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, all as a foreign language at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels. Classes run subject to availability. It is also possible to take a language unit on a supplementary / part-time basis (i.e. not as part of your main course of studies), but for languages other than English there is a charge for this.
Our staff also teach an array of international subjects such as International Business Management, European Business Issues and Cross-cultural Management, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and their research interests reflect our languages and international focus.
The Language Centre contains the latest facilities for language learning and international studies, and is a welcoming place for those across the University taking the courses and units in our portfolio.
We look forward to meeting you.”
