Outgoing Exchange
If you are a current student, you may be eligible to spend a period of time studying or working in the EU through the Erasmus Mobility programme, depending on certain elegibility criteria. The length of the exchange must be for a minimum of three months and a maximum of a full academic year.
The British Council| is the funding agency in the UK and coordinates the funding at a national level.

Who can go?
The opportunity to take part on an exchange depends upon your degree programme. If the structure of your course means that you are unable to go abroad, you might wish to consider a work placement abroad which is also possible under the Erasmus Programme. It is very important that you discuss first with your Course tutor the best option for you. To be elegible you need to:

be a enrolled as a student at Southampton Solent University

have completed at least one year of Higher Education

have the agreement of your Faculty Exchange Coordinator
Where can you go?
The eligible countries for exchange under the Erasmus Lifelong Learning programme are:

EU member states
-
EFTA/EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway

EU candidate country: Turkey

From 2011/12, Switzerland and Croatia will be participating in Erasmus.
To apply for the Erasmus programme, you will need to complete some documents required by the British Council, which will be provided by the Academic Partnerships Office. If you are interested in a particular country or institution, we can put you in touch with students who have studied there or who are from the country or institution. Student feedback shows that the best way of finding out about exchanges is by talking to other students.
