More than 2,000 students will graduate from Southampton Solent University during the University's annual Graduation ceremonies at Southampton Guildhall.
Students are graduating with degrees and professional qualifications during 10 ceremonies from 3-7 November, in subjects ranging from pop music and fashion, to social work and law.
This year sees the first cohort of students graduating in BA (Hons) Popular Music and Record Production – and international R&B star, Craig David – who hails from Southampton – will collect his own honorary doctorate bestowed on him by the University for his contributions to music.
Southampton Solent University Chancellor, Lord Alan West, will preside over the graduation ceremonies - which will also be shown to friends and relatives all over the world on a live webcast.
Southampton Solent University will present honorary degrees to academics and professionals who have made an outstanding contribution in their field of work, including James Brathwaite CBE (Doctor of Business); Rachel Burnett (Doctor of Technology); Craig David (Doctor of Music); Professor Kenneth Gregory CBE (Doctor of the University); John Greaves (Honorary Fellow); Jeremy Irons (Doctor of Arts); Jean Leake (Master of Business Administration); Jenny Packham (Doctor of Arts).
Professor Van Gore, Vice Chancellor of Southampton Solent University, said:
"The Graduation ceremonies are the highlight of the University's year, when we celebrate the achievements of our students and our staff. My congratulations to everyone who will be graduating this year."
