Graduate Discount Card Scheme

Southampton’s business community has joined forces with Southampton Solent University’s Alumni Association in a scheme which will increase local trade and add value to the experience of former students and their families.
City hotels and restaurants have signed up to Southampton's first Graduate Discount Card scheme, which offers discounts to graduates during graduation week, 2-6 November.
Following the graduation ceremonies, the recent students and their families will be able to make the most of their stay in the city with preferential rates at some of the city’s leading hotels and restaurants offering the best in international cuisine.
Trevor Thorne, Southampton Solent University’s Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “This scheme – which has been made possible with the help of the city’s businesses – is a great way for graduates to celebrate their graduation with friends and family, while enjoying what Southampton has to offer. Our graduates will benefit from the discounts and businesses will gain from the additional income.”
Businesses taking part in the Graduate Discount Card scheme include Jury’s Inn Hotel, White Star Tavern, Cantina, La Tavernatta, Bella Italia, Tang’s Chinese Restaurant, Ennio’s Ristorante e Bar, Dockgate 4 bar and grill, Banana Wharf, Puccinis, The Wine Bar.
The University hopes to expand the scheme to include the city’s retail sector next year.
