News release - The Click experimental music night
13 February 2009
Contemporary techno, Super Mario and mobile phones will be part of the mix at Southampton Solent University's experimental music night next Thursday, February 19, from 7-11pm.
Professional artists, DJs and students will create an exciting presentation of contemporary techno music and 8-bit games sounds, set against the backdrop of Tha Click – the current exhibition at Southampton Solent University's Millais Gallery.
The evening will feature Paul B Davis (Beige), lead artist from the exhibition by Paper Rad, an American crew of artists who blur the lines between art, music, computer programming and design.
He will be joined on the decks by second-year BA (Hons) Digital Music course students as well as the exhibition's curator, Heather Corcoran (DJ Pepperminta), who will be using mobile phones to produce her set.
All are welcome to the music night at the Millais Gallery, East Park Terrace Southampton SO4 0YN. Admission is free, no booking necessary and a pay bar will be available.
