Degree shows 2011

 As the 2010/11 academic year draws to a close, the University’s final-year students will be putting their talent on public display in a series of showcases. 

Parents, peers, employers and members of the public are invited to enjoy the work and discover new talent – from flamboyant fashion to fine art, product design to photography.

 

The degree shows will be available to view at Southampton Solent University, East Park Terrace, Southampton SO14 0YN, from 10-16 June 2011.

Following their London debut at the Free Range Fashion Event,  Trumans Brewery, Brick Lane, graduating fashion students will be showcasing their final collections in a local show on 10 June.

The cutting edge collections will take to the catwalk at the University’s state-of-the-art John Millais Theatre, East Park Terrace, Southampton, at 7.30pm.

Graduating Fashion Design students will be presenting collections utilising a range of fabric types and incorporating diverse themes from “wearable architecture”, using riveted metal and wood, to collections inspired by abstract expressionism and the destructive power of water.

 

Solent’s technology-minded students will be demonstrating their ability to plan, execute and prepare the findings of an applied project at the Technology Degree Show 2011 on Friday June 10 from 11am-2pm in the Herbert Collins Building at East Park Terrace.

Their creative solutions to a variety of challenges will include an interactive home computer exercise game for the rehabilitation of stroke victims and affordable 3D TV production.
