Twenty-first century leisure experiences. This group of eclectic and enigmatic researchers is exploring a range of leisure experiences, some of which may appear esoteric, and include, according to Pine and Gilmore, entertainment and education and which are esthetic and escapist.

Outputs have, or will, include international conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters. The work underpins the existing and developing curriculum (for example, the cruise industry, and utilises students as part of the process) directly feeding into courses such as extreme sports management and cruise industry management, as well as the recently-validated MSc in Tourism Management.
