Group lead: Professor Alan Schechner

The Art and Politics research group was set up in 2009 and its membership currently consists of practitioners, theorists and researchers from a range of disciplines, whose work engages with issues of political concern.

The group runs a regular visiting lecture series and a reading group and has participated in external symposia

Members have exhibited, published and lectured on their work in a range of high quality national and international contexts.

At present, the group is working on the development of an online journal, planning a series of exhibitions to be shown at the Bargate Monument Gallery and is in the early stages of developing a symposium on the Israel/Palestine conflict.
