We offer many opportunities to study for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Unlike a postgraduate taught course, as a research degree student, you will not attend lectures or follow specific modules, but work independently in order to critically investigate and evaluate a topic. You will be guided throughout your research by a specialist supervision team formed of motivated, dedicated and experienced academic staff. You will be supported through a tailored programme of supporting studies and research training and you can expect excellent pastoral and administrative support.

The results of your research may be presented as a final thesis, an artefact or performance. Your artefact or performance shall be accompanied by a written commentary and you will subsequently be examined orally on the topic and programme of work you have followed.
