Solent researchers on Twitter
Southampton Solent University has created an enabling environment for research and innovation among the researchers, scholars and learners here on campus. Research-informed teaching is at the heart of our approach to teaching and learning.
Researchers work to build a cycle of learning and growth by relating their research to practice, to the wider community and to students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The growth of communities of practice based on current research is supported through the research and innovation hubs, which bring the strengths of the University together within core groups. These hubs provide a stimulating and enabling environment for all researchers, including student researchers, to engage in multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary discourse, and to develop strong external partnerships with industry and other stakeholders.
The research and innovation landscape is increasingly more competitive and complex, involving partnerships with all levels of government, non-governmental organisations, private sector partners and charities. The University also has a dedicated research and innovation unit providing cohesive support for research and innovation through a researcher development programme of events, and the development of projects at an early stage through the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Awards.
