Southampton is a city of many exciting activities, but primarily it's a city with the sea in its blood.

 

Southampton is a magnet for those who love life under the sail. Yachting enthusiasts come from all round the world to sail the waters which can be both peaceful and challenging. It is also the home of the world famous Southampton Boatshow, and many global sailing races, including the Volvo Ocean Race. If you love sailing, Southampton and the Solent are just about as good as it gets. This also holds true for those who like to canoe and cruise.

Alternatively you could watch top sports professionals in action. Southampton is home to  Southampton Football Club and Hampshire County Cricket Club, both clubs play in modern stadiums close to the city centre.

 

For swimming and fitness try The Quays. A £10 million complex, which offers a variety of pools and a state of the art diving pool.

The city also has a wide variety of golf courses, ranging from the Municipal course close to the city centre to the County Club based at the Rose Bowl.
