Start Sailing
This is a 2 day introduction to sailing. It aims to teach novices the basics of boat handling, like rigging the boat, tacking, gybing and wind awareness. It is recommended this course is followed by a Basic Skills level 2 course.

Basic Skills
This course will allow the student to be safety conscious and have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without an instructor on board in light winds.
It will be assumed that all students starting this course has already mastered the practical skills and background knowledge required for Start Sailing level 1.

Seamanship Skills
On completion of this course the student will be capable of manouvering a keelboat or dinghy in a seamanlike manner and making semanship decisions in moderate conditions. It is advisable that all students attending this course has already mastered the Basic Skills level 2.

Day Sailing
This course will give the student a confident, safe approach to planning a executing a short cruise in a dinghy/keelboat. Every student partaking in this course is asssumed to have knowledge from Basic Skills level 2. Additionally they should be able to carry out manouveres from, and understand, Seamanship skills.

Introduction to Racing and Spinnaker Skills
This combined course will introduce the student to the skills necesssary to take part in club racing. The course will cover such areas as race organisation, starting sequences, boat preparation and tuning, boat handling and race strategy and tactics. Much of the course will be carried out on the water using race situations to improve learning
The spinnaker skills element will be run in conjunction with the racing element as it forms a major part of racing boats.

RYA Keelboat Instructors Course
This is a five day course consisting of four days training and a final days assessment. The course is run by an RYA Coach/Assessor and covers the requirements of the Instructors syllabus, this includes how to instruct on keelboats and the structure of the National Sailing Scheme and preparation and delivery of theory and practical sessions.
