RYA Introduction to Powerboating - Level 1
1-Day Course
This is a one day introduction to Powerboating, that covers the practical aspects of safety in powerboats and basic boat handling. It is recommended that this course is followed up with the Powerboat Level 2 course.

RYA National Powerboat Certificate Course - Level 2
2-Day Course
This course will introduce the newcomer to the sport of Power Boating, including different types of powerboats, basic boat checks, pre launch checks, basic powerboat handling skills at both low and high speed and how to plan a short coastal passage then carry it out using the skills taught.
Assessment will be conducted on a continual basis and by a small practical and oral assessment at the end of the second day.
The level 2 qualification is strongly advised as it is recognised as the basic minimum standard to drive a powerboat.
You are now required to provide a passport photo for your certificate, please ensure you bring one with you.
International Certificate of Competence also available.

RYA Powerboat Intermediate/Day Navigation course
2 -Day Course
The course aims to teach day-time navigation in coastal waters using ribs. The content of the course will include:- How to plan a day cruise, using a mixture of traditional navigation means and GPS navigation, including the use of chart plotters. Tidal heights calculations, buoyage and pilotage, along with boat preparation, weather, boat handling, including man overboard, and passage marking will also be covered during the course.

RYA Advanced Powerboat
2-Day Course
The aim is to teach boat handling, seamanship, pilotage and navigation in a planning powerboat by day and night in tidal coastal waters.

Candidates should be competent up to RYA Intermediate Powerboat standard and navigational ability up to Day Skipper Shorebased Level.

RYA Powerboat Instructor Pre-Entry Assessment
This is a now a compulsory pre-requisite for attending the Powerboat Instructrors course. The assessment which will be carried out by an RYA Powerboat Trainer, will ensure the candidate has the appropriate knowledge and driving skills required before being able to go on to the course itself. Your driving skills need to be at the highest standard before considering the assessment.

Ideally they should also hold an SRC Operators licence

This is a 2-day course for RYA Powerboat Instructors who wish to teach the advanced syllabus. Applicants must hold the Advanced award. On successful completion of the course the applicant will be able to teach the RYA Advanced Powerboat course. The course's main aim will be on how to deliver the advanced syllabus.
