What happens next?

How to apply 2

Just follow these steps and you won't go wrong with accommodation in the Student Residences.

Step 1

You need to submit an online application| to secure your place in the University Residences. This will take place at the end of March. 

Step 2

You will be allocated into a room after the release of exam results in August.

Step 3

We will write/email you to tell you which Residence you have been allocated into.
 
You will also receive the following documents at this time:
•  Three Residence Agreements
•  Confirmation of how much it will cost and how you can pay
•  Our Terms of Residency| (you should read this prior to signing your Residence Agreement)
•  A Vehicle Detail form (if you've requested a car parking space)
•  The appropriate receipts for payments you have made.  

If you've requested a car parking space payment will not be taken until August. Vehicle Details forms will be sent to you shortly after. Any booking forms received after August, payment will be taken immediately and you will receive your Vehicle Details forms with the rest of the documentation.  

Step 4

Complete and sign in all three copies of your Residence Agreement, and any other forms you receive.

Step 5

Keep one copy of the Residence Agreement and payment mandate for yourself. Keep the other two resident agreements and a copy of your payment mandate safe for when you move into your Residence.

Step 6

Do not send any forms back to the Accommodation Office – keep them to hand in at the Residence. Do not pack them in the bottom of your suitcase, you will need them when you move in.

Step 7

Make sure you complete the accommodation online induction|. It's designed to give you all the essential information you need before you move into the Residences.

Step 8

On the day you move in, hand the two copies of your Residence Agreement and a copy of your payment mandate to the member of staff at the Residence. You will then be given your keys and/or access cards. If you have been allocated a parking space, hand in the Vehicle Detail form and you will receive a permit to be displayed in your vehicle and an access card for the car park.

What happens if I cancel?

We realise that people's circumstances in life can change and that cancellations do occur. It's not a problem, but do let the Accommodation Office know in writing as early as possible.
