Scholarships
The University currently has two scholarships to assist young people with the cost of Higher Education.
The Awards are given to selected students who meet the qualifying criteria. Further details on each scheme can be found by following the links below.
The Lisa Wilson Scholarship
Given by the Wilson family who have set up a fund, which is presently being registered as a charity, in memory of their daughter Lisa Wilson who died in a car crash in Australia in November 2002. Lisa spent three years at Southampton Institute from 1998 - 2001.

The Sport Scholarship
This scheme is designed to enable the high-level sporting performer to continue his or her sporting progress while maintaining a suitable programme of academic study. A range of support mechanisms is in place to underpin the scheme and to ensure that appropriate facilities for training and competition are provided.

Research assisted fee scheme
Students who wish to study a postgraduate research programme (MPhil/PhD) and who aspire to an academic career, may apply to have fees waived in return for some teaching and other scholarly activity. Students wishing to be considered for this scheme should indicate on their Postgraduate Application Form| where the Faculty will consider your application.
Overseas scholarships
International Scholarships Scheme
We are pleased to offer some scholarships to students applying from overseas, full details are available on our International pages|.
Maritime and Technology Faculty postgraduate scholarships 2010
Overseas applicants to taught Masters programmes will be considered for a scholarship based on academic merit. The faculty offers a limited number of scholarships worth up to £5,800. This award cannot be used in conjunction with the International Scholarship Scheme.
Applicants who apply to MSc Business Information Technology, MSc Software Engineering Management or MSc International Maritime Studies by 30th June 2010, will be considered for this Scholarship in July 2010.
