Wakeboarding
|Catering for all abilities, the club offers tuition for beginners as well as to help the more experienced members' progress. The club offers members access to Europe's most renowned wakeboard and water-ski facility, JB Water Ski Park| based at Thorpe Park.
The facilities include use of the cable tow along with various discounts including the use of the specialised wakeboard and water-ski tow-boats (Mastercraft X2, X7 and Pro-star190). The Wakeboard and waterski club started in 2003 and over the last year has gone from strength to strength. Winning both wakeboard big air and kneeboard events in 2004 student Wakeboard and Waterski nationals| and making an appearance at the 2004 Wakestock| big air competition.
Club information: The Wakeboard club are one of Solent’s extreme sports club. They are based at JB Waterski Park which is at Thorpe Park. This is the largest wakeboard lake in the south!
Training: JB Waterski, Thorpe Park. Wednesday afternoons from 11am.
Membership cost: £130 for the academic year 2011/12.
Other socials and trips are run throughout the year and these are paid on a turn up and pay basis.
There is a national event every year that some of our elite wakeboarders enter, however this is not part of the University sporting structure.
