Team Solent beat Wellingborough Phoenix in the most dramatic style 71 - 70 (Rutter 18, Milner 18, Haynes 10).

It was in the fourth quarter that all the drama occured. After Wellingborough levelled the game with only eight seconds remaining, Team Solent were able to get a foul on the back of an offensive rebound by Clayton Milner. Team Solent comfortably won a consecutive home game against UWIC Archers 94 - 75 (Payne 26, Rutter 18, Zoppellini 17).

UWIC capitalised on Solent's lack of aggression and concentration, reducing their lead to only two-points (26 - 24). In the second quarter the home side stamped their authroity on the game going in at half time with a 58 - 39 lead.

As Coach Donneaud roatated his team, UWIC reduced the deficit to 13-points (72 - 59) by the end of the third quarter but in the fourth, Team Solent extended that lead to a final score of 94 - 75.

02/11/10

Team Solent's midweek tie against Locks Heath saw both teams play out a 3-3 thriller. Both teams were well matched, with an entertaining first half finishing 2-2. Although a win would have been a terrific result against a team that sat above them in the league and away from home, Team Solent will be pleased to continue their unbeaten run and maintain momentum.

06/11/10

Team Solent progressed to the fourth round of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup with a 3-1 away win against Wymering. The cup is proving to be a healthy distraction from league duties, which Team Solent will return to this Saturday (13/11/10) at home against Fleetlands. They will be hoping to take the three-points off the team that currently sit directly below them in the table. However, with games in hand, Team Solent will be looking to close the gap and pressurise those above them in the league.

13/11/10

Team Solent received a reality check off Fleetlands after losing at home 6 - 2. Fleetlands took the lead early on and never really looked back. Team Solent were having to chase the deficit and as a result, left themselves open to counter-attacks.

20/11/10

Team Solent continued their run in the Senior Cup with an emphatic 4 -1 victory away to Otterbourne. This win means they now progress to the 4th round of the competition, getting closer with each game to the highly sought after final.

27/11/10

Team Solent's fixture against Overton was postponed, which adds yet another game in hand on their league rivals.

13/11/10

Team Solent progressed to the last 18 of the BUCS competition, which is classified as the semi-finals.

Drawn in the same group as Brighton and Bournemouth, Team Solent had to win both games at Flemming Park in order to qualify. They did so in comprehensive fashion, beating Brighton by five-wickets (99 for 1) and Bournemouth by two wickets (93 for 4).

Owamir Afzal led the team with a great performance both with the bat and ball. Owamir was 25 not out against Brighton and a terrific 35 not out against Bourenmouth. With the ball, the spin-bowler gave away very little, conceding a mere 13 runs in six overs.

Team Solent will now compete in the semi-finals which are likely to be held at Cardiff in February next year.

South Hants Indoor League Division 1

Team Solent maintained their 100% record in the division with a third victory coming against Hambledon. Team Solent was 173 all out, with Billy Taylor achieving a superb 59. Hambledon in reply could only conjure up 135 runs before being bowled out.

Team Solent will be looking to qualify from their division so they can compete against the other five Hampshire qualifiers before hopefully representing the county next year.
