Southampton Solent University has over 30 student sports teams which compete as
Team Solent.

Team Solent were the 10th most improved team with a 15 place improvement on the previous years 70th, finishing 55th out of 146 Higher Education establishments in the
BUCS league in 2009/10.

Clubs are run centrally by the Sport Solent department, which includes all aspects of management and administration.

All members of the Sports Development Team are also involved in liaising with the sports clubs to help get them up and running, offer advice and give support through the year.

Sport Solent employs a number of professionals to coach and manage the clubs to ensure they are able to compete and develop to the highest standard.

All students who join a sports club will receive an instant bronze membership with Sport Solent that will entitle them to unlimited free fitness classes throughout the year.
