Where will I live while I study?
It's entirely up to you! You can choose to live in halls of residence, private accommodation or stay living at home and commute to your place of study.
Living away from home
If you choose to move away from home to study then you'll need to secure accommodation.
Halls of residence
Most students who decide to move away from home to study choose to live in halls of residence, as this is a good way to meet people and make new friends. Southampton Solent University offers an extensive range of rooms, 2,300 in total, in six different halls of residence. All halls of residence are located within easy walking distance of each other, the main campus and the city centre. The accommodation office expects to be able to provide a room for all requesting new students.
Further details on how to apply, plus terms and conditions can be found on the accommodation| site.
Alternative accommodation
Should you prefer alternative accommodation to halls of residence the accommodation office and students' union are able to offer practical advice and guidance, including access to a list of accredited private rented properties in Southampton. Further details on can be found at alternative accommodation|.
