Will I be able to work part time?
YES. These days more and more students need to work part-time in order to support themselves during their studies. Learning to manage your time is an important skill while studying at university and it comes into effect here.
The key is not to take on too much part-time work. Remember that while it may seem as though you have plenty of 'spare' time (i.e. time when you're not in lectures or seminars), most of this will be spent studying around your subject and preparing coursework.
We recommend that you do not work in paid employment for more than 12 hours per week in term time (as per Select Committee on Education and Employment Sixth Report).
