Part-Time Study Support
What support is available to me?
Your course tutor and fellow students are likely to be your main sources of support. However, you can contact one of our welfare advisers, counsellors or a member of the chaplaincy if you have a specific need. For guidance and help in using our facilities, there are specialist librarians and computer support staff as well as the library's help desk for part-time students.
Is there any extra help available?
Yes. The Study Assistance unit provides free guidance and support to students. The Study Assistance tutors offer help with core skills such as study techniques, basic computer use and numeracy. Guidance leaflets are available as well as direct consultation - in person, by e-mail or by telephone.
What if my circumstances change?
Because most of our courses consist of units (each giving credits towards your qualification), you may be able to stop and return later to take up where you left off. Alternatively you may change your pace of study, taking more or less units in any one year.
