A-Z Documentary
Directed by TV Productions student Jenny Strange, the A-Z of Glastonbury documentary aims to give a more indepth and personal look at the exciting things that go on at Glastonbury festival, that many people may not get the chance to see.
Talking about the A-Z documentary, Jenny said: "It was a difficult task because getting all 26 letters into 5 minutes is giving me about 11 seconds per letter, so not really enough time to go into detail about anything!
"I feel that I have been able to develop my skills as a director and producer and learn more about interview techniques. I needed only short sound bites from my contributors to put over the small parts of footage if necessary and so ensuring that I worked with them to get this just how I wanted proved to be a challenge.
"I wanted to find the more unknown side of the festival but at the same time show the range and diversity of it all. I hope the documentary will give the viewers an insight into how Glastonbury differs from other festivals and why I think people should come back.”
Talking about Solent’s involvement with Glastonbury, Jenny only had positive things to say: “Solent's involvement at Glastonbury has been really professional, and I know the client has been pleased with the results. The Outside Broadcasting guys have done a great job on both stages this year, and the daily updates packages have proved to be a huge success. The client and the exec producers allow us students to have a creative freedom with our pieces and this I believe makes me feel more positive about the film I am making; that it is my own.”
