RYA Day Skipper Theory course
This is a comprehensive introduction to chartwork, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship. You will find this course invaluable if you want to learn how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the Day Skipper practical course.
No prior knowledge is assumed, however some practical knowledge would be desirable.
On completion, the syllabus arms would be skippers with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. However, lights, weather and IRPCS are also included in the course.
Please note: Theory course prices do not include the teaching pack, plotter, dividers and practice almanac necessary to complete the course. These may be purchased on the first day of the course depending on requirements. Teaching pack and Training Almanac cost £40.
