About the course

This course will help provide you with ideas and practices for the inclusion of disabled players in football sessions, whether in mainstream or impairment-specific sessions.

Course pre-requisites:
  • Hold the FA Level 1 in Coaching Football
  • Hold a current FA Emergency Aid qualification
  • Hold a current FA Safeguarding Children qualification
  • You must provide your FAN number. To obtain or retrieve a FAN number - go to https://secure.thefa.com/FAN/Register.aspx
    • This is to ensure your attendance is recorded against the correct Football Association account.

Outcomes

Upon completion of the course you should feel more confident and able to:

  • Apply and extend your existing coaching skills to meet the needs of players with a range of impairments
  • Establish basic communication skills for coaching disabled footballers
  • Use appropriate terminology
  • Identify appropriate safety and medical considerations
  • Plan a wide range of coaching sessions for disabled players
  • Use the inclusion spectrum to plan your coaching sessions to include disabled players or provide alternative appropriate opportunities
Course exam/certificate

In order to gain a certificate, you must:

  • Attend all course hours
  • Provide your FAN number
  • Hold the FA Level 1 in Coaching Football
  • Hold a current FA Emergency Aid qualification
  • Hold a current FA Safeguarding Children qualification
