About the course

This workshop was developed by StreetGames and England Handball. It provides learners with game ideas and the basic rules of handball. This allows them to introduce the sport to young people in their community. Participants combine existing coaching and leadership skills and experience with games and challenges - to learn how to engage young people in handball.

Course pre-requisites:

You must be aged 14 years or older to take part in this course.

  • An understanding handball and the fundamental skills needed to play it
  • How to deliver basic handball activities to groups of young people
  • An understanding of, and how to apply, basic rules for informal handball games
  • How to organise handball challenges and social competitions.
