About the course

The 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Multi-Skills Development in Sport course will help you to up-skill existing Level 2 sport-specific coaches in the area of multi-skills development in sport.

Course pre-requisites:

To register on to the 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Multi-Skills Development in Sport (QCF) learners are required to:

  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes speaking, listening, reading and writing)

Hold a minimum of a QCF accredited Level 2 sports specific coaching qualification or recognised equivalent (Dodgeball L2 not accepted):

  • Level 2 Award in Principles for Coaching in Sport (QCF)
  • Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Preparations for Coaching Sport (QCF)
  • 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning and Physical Education and School Sport (QCF)
  • QCF accredited Gym Instructor Qualification
  • QTS + Physical Education Specialism
  • BSc Degree in Sports Coaching (inclusive of practical delivery)
  • Or other equivalent based on individual application

Away from course: You must plan, deliver and evaluate a series of multi-skills coaching sessions (minimum of four) in a real environment.

What you'll study

Course content:
  • Principles of Coaching Children
  • Fundamentals of Movement
  • Fundamentals of Sport Skills
  • Delivery of a FMS Programme
Course exam/certificate:

In order to gain this qualification, participants must:

  • You must successfully complete all modules
  • Learners are required to deliver aspects of a session on-course in a simulated environment in order to demonstrate competence.
  • The observed delivery must last a minimum of 20 minutes
  • Attend all course hours.

Level 2 Award in Multi-Skills Development in Sport is specifically for those who already hold a QCF-accredited Level 2 sport specific qualification or recognised equivalent.
