A highly regarded qualification from a recognised provider of specialist professional marketing training, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)’s Diploma in Professional Marketing allows you to develop the strategic marketing management skills sought after in both the private and public sectors.

The diploma is aimed at professionals with 2-3 years’ experience in marketing operations, brand management or account management who aspire to, or are just entering, marketing management positions.

You will develop your creative thinking, communication, risk evaluation, project management and decision-making skills for the marketing environment, and study a range of relevant business topics.

Fees also have to be made to the CIM for membership and assessment. Modules can be paid for separately - ie £425 + CIM fees.

Key entry requirements

    CIM Level 6 Diagnostic Test Results – Minimum 40% in each area

    AND one (or more) of the following may be required 

    • Professional Certificate in Marketing or Certificate in Professional Marketing
    • Any relevant Level 4 qualification
    • Foundation Degree in Business with Marketing
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognised university, with at least one third of credits coming from marketing content (ie 120 credits in Bachelor's degrees or 60 credits in Master's degrees)
    • Professional practice (suggested two years marketing in an operational role) plus diagnostic assessment onto Level 6.


    If English isn’t your first language, you will also need to demonstrate you have achieved one of the following English language qualifications within the last two years:

    • IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above).
    • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above.
    • Other English Language qualifications may be considered.
