Developed in partnership with local employers, this accredited top-up programme explores the rapidly changing modern business environment from the viewpoint of the decision makers.

Our industry links have provided past students with access to some of the UK’s most inspiring business leaders. Students have also worked as consultants on live client briefs, pitching ideas for top brand including Mercedes-Benz and Ahmad Tea.

Selected students are able to pursue additional qualifications during their studies. These include the PRINCE2 project management qualification, as well as industry approved qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Communication Advertising Marketing Foundation (CAM). These qualifications can give jobseekers a real advantage, demonstrating to employers that the candidate is educated to a standard put in place by the industry itself.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees for the 2018/19 academic year are:
UK, EU and Channel Island part-time fees: £1,545 per unit

Graduation costs

Graduation is the ceremony to celebrate the achievements of your studies. For graduates in 2017, there is no charge to attend graduation, but you will be required to pay for the rental of your academic gown (approximately £42 per graduate, depending on your award). You may also wish to purchase official photography packages, which range in price from £15 to £200+. Graduation is not compulsory, so if you prefer to have your award sent to you, there is no cost.

Key entry requirements

Applications are welcomed from those who already hold a foundation degree or HND in business or an equivalent subject, or have completed the second year of a relevant and comparable degree.

All applications are considered on an individual basis. 

We welcome applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds. Applicants who are not in possession of the minimum entry requirements but are able to demonstrate aptitude, enthusiasm and motivation will be considered on an individual basis and may be admitted subject to satisfactory interview and/or portfolio. Please contact us for further details.

English language requirements

Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language. The agreed minimum requirements for this course are:

  • IELTS minimum 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each individual component
  • TOEFL IBT minimum 80 with a minimum of 19 in each individual component
  • or equivalent.

Qualifications are checked before enrolment, and international students must bring their original certificates or certified copies when coming to study at the University.

The University also offers a pre-sessional English programme for international students who wish to improve their level of English before starting a degree course.

We provide a stimulating learning environment and access to state-of-the-art resources to help you make the most of your time with us. Flexible spaces, Wi-Fi facilities and learning zones all contribute to our lively and contemporary study environment at Solent.

You’ll have access to the ‘Sim Venture’ simulation game in our IT suites. Working in teams, you’ll have the opportunity to run your own virtual company and make decisions in all areas of business.

Students also pick from a rage of optional units, specialising their knowledge to suit career ambitions. Students may have the opportunity to pursue additional qualifications alongside their studies. These include PRINCE2 project management and Google Analytics certifications.
