The course team has built close relationships with cruise companies such as Carnival UK, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Saga Cruises (RSSC), Norwegian Cruise Line, AB Ports, Intercruises and other organisations such as University of Dubrovnik and Port of Dubrovnik and Cruise Line International Association (UK and Ireland). These connections have enabled past students to benefit from networking opportunities and guest lectures, bringing real-world experience into the classroom.
The course is taught by experienced practitioners who will help to encourage you to use both academic knowledge and practical skills to enhance your employability potential. You will also be encouraged to develop a personal online branding portfolio to showcase your skills and talents to potential employers, as well as attend employability fairs to network directly.
Our experienced team have a wealth of industry experience in all aspects of travel, tourism, hospitality, cruise and event management. As a result, the team has built up a range of dynamic relationships across the sector. For example, each year students can volunteer at the International Cruise Convention, dealing with up to 700 delegates and gaining valuable experience. Students have taken part in ships visits including Cunard ships, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. Our graduates have gone on to work at prestigious venues and continue to support Southampton Solent University with facilitating interesting field trip visits to local tourist destinations that include Portsmouth Historic Docks and the Mary Rose Museum.
