Students on media technology courses have the chance to take part in a range of work experience opportunities during their studies. These include both year-long placements and short-term events. Past students have worked with the BBC, Glastonbury festival, Bestival, the Green Party, NEP Visions (Rugby World Cup), CTV (test cricket) and Hawk-Eye.
These opportunities take place throughout the year and are organised by both the course team and the University’s in-house production company, Solent Productions and students also have the chance to pitch for paid work through the University’s in-house creative agency, Solent Creatives.
Using and maintaining broadcast technologies in a working environment allows students to gain first-hand insight into the way sports productions are carried out, reinforcing skills learnt in the classroom. These work experience opportunities include both year-long placements and short-term events.
