Event details

We are delighted to invite our alumni, former staff, current staff, students and future students to the University for a conference to celebrate 25 years of media technology at Solent.

The media technology programme was developed by Roger Lownsborough, having been inspired by the hit film Jurassic Park. Roger wanted to create a course that taught students about the technology behind television and film productions.

The course has evolved over the last 25 years to include audio engineering, live sound and acoustics. It has consistently had high employment rates, tapping into the gaps in the industry where technical audio/video engineers were in desperate need.

We can help make your day even more special by contacting fellow alumni and academics to let them know you’re attending so they can join you. Get in touch with the name, subject and graduating year (if an alum) of those you would like to notify.

Send us your Solent memories

We will be putting together an exhibition of photos and memories to celebrate 25 years of media technology at Solent University. If you have anything you wish to share from your time at Solent, we would love to hear from you.
