Picture and Sound is a collaborative event between Solent University and Sprocket Rocket Soho. The event is for prospective students who are looking to study film, television or media technology undergraduate degrees at Solent.
Attendees will be able to listen to two panels of speakers who are well known in the film industry, including BAFTA- and Oscar-winning film and sound editors.
The theme of this panel is the importance of film openings and getting the audience engaged. There will also be an open forum Q&A session.
British film and television editor with more than 30 film credits. In July 2017 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Solent University.
Mark Sanger ACE
A leading British film editor who won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for his work on the 2013 film, Gravity. In July 2018 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Solent University.
John Wilson ACE
One of Britain's leading film editors, John Wilson's films include Billy Elliot (2000), The History Boys (2006), The Book Thief (2013), London Road (2014) and Me Before You (2016). In July 2018 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Solent University.
Mark Sanger and Mick Audsley will be in discussion with Nina Hartstone ACE, who recently won an Oscar and a BAFTA for Best Sound Editing for Bohemian Rhapsody.
