Research shows that being physically active helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol and can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, many different cancers, stroke and diabetes. Physical activity also helps to keep the immune system working effectively; helping the body fight infection. During the recent lockdown the importance of staying physically active has been brought to the forefront.
