Southampton Solent University has climbed 14 places in the new Guardian University Guide published today (Monday 23 May 2016).

The Guardian’s league table ranks universities according to: spending per student; student/staff ratio; graduate employment; entry requirements; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results; and student satisfaction, based on results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS).

The University improved in all eight variables, but it was a significant rise in the value-added score that helped Solent climb into the top 100.

On receiving these latest results Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Baldwin said: “This is great news for the University, its staff and our students. It is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by staff at Solent over many years and is a real boost following the publication of our new strategic plan last year.

“This latest success, in addition to the recent rise in the Complete University Guide (CUG) 2017 league table, and a top-100 position in the 2016 Whatuni Student Choice Awards, highlights the great strides being made by the University.”
