14th July 2017

Solent University has been shortlisted in the Workplace Health & Wellbeing category of the 2017 Royal Society for Public Health, Health and Wellbeing Awards.

The Awards recognise and celebrate a range of activities, policies and strategies that empower communities and individuals, improve the populations’ health and address the wider social determinants of health.

The University has been shortlisted for its work undertaken by the Solent Health team. Each application underwent a rigorous assessment from an expert panel of assessors, with Solent competing alongside Nestle UK and Ireland and the Pioneering Care Partnership to be crowned the overall category winner.

Commenting on the success Chris Dunn, Health Promotion Manager and Associate Lecturer said: “Making it through to the short list is a fantastic endorsement for Solent Health. We are delighted that the programme has been recognised in this way and that staff and students are able to benefit from the work we deliver.”

Winners will be revealed at the RSPH Awards 2017 ceremony on Thursday 19 October.
