We recently welcomed over 30 talented youngsters to campus

22nd August 2017

Last week, we opened up our doors to over 30 talented youngsters from the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Zoielogic Dance Company. The dancers came together as part of the Mayflower Theatre Summer Youth Project, utilising Solent's theatre and sports hall as rehearsal space for their dance show inspired by the iconic musical 'Guys and Dolls'.

Solent's performance courses have worked alongside the Mayflower Youth Theatre in the past - including their animal installation performance earlier this year at Westquay. The most recent partnership comes ahead of the opening of Solent's newest performance degrees, including BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and BA (Hons) Acting and Performance.

Performance senior lecturer, Sarah Mepham, says: "The course was delighted to offer space to such an exciting project. It was a great way to support the Mayflower Summer Youth Project in inspiring future generations and a fantastic way to commemorate the start of our new performance courses. It was amazing to see the young talent of the south creating such inventive, beautiful and inspired work."
