On Friday 3 March a cohort of second year students studying the Live Sound Techniques unit set off to Stroud to visit d&b audiotechnik’s facilities. Students were introduced to some of the components developed by d&b and learned about common design considerations for large-scale electroacoustic systems.

d&b have 35 years’ experience in developing the hardware and software for sound reinforcement systems with a focus on innovation through research and design. They are involved with the design, manufacture and testing of component parts – such as loudspeakers, amplifiers and control systems – as well as education and training.

Student Nashpal commented “It looked like everyone really enjoyed the trip! It was great having an electro acoustics lecture from the perspective of a manufacturer. They were all very friendly and welcoming. I couldn’t recommend it more for any student remotely interested in audio next year!”

Thanks to d&b audiotechnik for hosting us – we’ll certainly stay in touch and hope to return soon!
