Second year students studying our Live Event Technology unit were invited to ChamSys today for a workshop on their lighting technologies. ChamSys are a Southampton based firm with international reach in the world of Lighting Tech. Live Sound Technology Lecturer Neil Brooming commented “There is no better way to be taught and get hands-on with professional products.”

The students certainly enjoyed the training and practiced important skills such as logging cues for productions. The equipment is found throughout the industry for live music, TV, films, theatre, clubs, bars and architectural installations. This was a great opportunity to use their product range and learn transferable skills that can be used throughout the industry.

The Media Technology programme is really grateful for the support of local enterprises such as ChamSys - their input keeps our courses relevant and provides access to the latest kit. Many thanks to those at ChamSys for their guidance and hospitality.
