We have now opened the doors to our new sports complex, with the public gym now open for use (Wednesday 1 May).

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Graham Baldwin says: “I am delighted that Solent’s new Sports Complex is now open, following the official handover event last week. We are incredibly proud and cannot wait to see the facilities in use by staff, students and the local community.”

Solent Sports Complex includes two sports halls; two fitness studios and an indoor cycling studio - offering a range of classes; a multi-purpose gym, open to the general public; a high performance gym for athlete students and commercial partners; and a teaching gym, to support undergraduate teaching for relevant courses. The complex also includes a sports and exercise therapy clinical space.

As well as the general gym facilities, there will be a host of classes available including body combat, aerobic, yoga, pilates, step and tone, zumba and more. Users can also benefit from a dedicated indoor cycling studio.

The gym will be fully staffed at all times and is open from 6:30am – 10:30pm Monday – Friday and from 9am to 8pm on weekends and public holidays.
