Solent University’s STEM in a box challenge invites schools to participate in fun and exciting activities focused in developing knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Made up of themed, interactive resources and delivered by our engaging student ambassadors, STEM in a box allows learners to become scientists, solve mysteries, find out why and how things work, and develop a passion for a future in STEM.
Each ‘design and make’ style challenge will be introduced by our student ambassadors at your school during British Science Week (in March), and comes with the resources, lesson plans, worksheets and teachers' guide you need to run the challenge over a 4-6 week period.
You can even call our student ambassadors back to lend a hand, if you need them. The STEM challenges will teach your learners about the processes involved in the generation, development and communication of ideas; responding to briefs, research, teamwork, project management, knowledge application, reflection and more.
Participating schools that complete their challenge will be invited to come to our city centre campus to present their discoveries to other teams. The efforts of your learners who complete their challenge will be acknowledged in our annual STEM in a box celebration presentation in June.
