Meet the professionals

If your students are interested in public relations or marketing for your future career, this is a great opportunity for them to meet our current students and industry professionals. The event includes a keynote guest speaker, and a fantastic ‘speed dating’ style networking opportunity, where your students will also be introduced to guest professionals to ask questions, and find out more about working in PR or marketing.

Duration: One evening (5-9pm)
Maximum number of students: 20

Solent saves the world!

Our planet is in crisis and there's no guarantee we'll survive it! What are the key social, political and economic problems facing the world? What dangers do they present and how can we combat them? Is it time to give up? No! It's time to call the communicators; those who have the skills to explain problems and solutions to others and convince us all that making a change can 'save the world'. Students will work on a challenging and engaging campaign brief, build creative solutions with the UK's next generation of communicators, and launch their ideas to the world that day via social media.

Duration: One day (9am-5pm)
Maximum number of students: 14

Storytelling is the new marketing

Reflecting the importance of content marketing for all brands, the session will focus on developing a campaign plan including marketing, advertising and public relations. Responding to a client brief, you will consider your competition, target audience and positioning your product. Using an agile development process, you could have the opportunity to build your strategy, develop creative concepts, storyboard a YouTube viral and plan a social media campaign.

Duration: 1-2 hours (flexible)
Maximum number of students: 20

Design the latest edition of SEVEN magazine

Responding to our client's brief for a new fashion magazine, students have the opportunity to create original digital artwork in our professional photographic studios and learn how to incorporate this into their own magazine cover design. They could use their journalistic skill to create imaginative, eye-catching text, or employ their stylistic design skills to create original and compelling imagery. Students are guided at all stages, from the initial concept through to the final product. At the end of the day, they will have launched the face for a new magazine concept - online and in print!

Duration: 90 minutes (minimum)
Maximum number of students: 40
