We believe higher education should be a choice that's open to all, and that each child should have an understanding of what university life can offer. By introducing the vocabulary of higher education to Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils through fun and interactive activities we hope to show that further and higher education are a realistic choice for everyone.
Our learning journey project brings your learners a rich annual programme of events and opportunities designed to engage and enthuse them, and to introduce the exciting world of higher education.
The project delivers two types of activity:
Get Set: our enthusiastic student ambassadors will come into your school to work with your learners and talk to them about the university experience.
Discover and Do: activities to give learners the opportunity to visit our city centre campus and take part in fun introductory activities in the types of subjects they’ll study at university.
The range of activities covers arts, sports, STEM, study skills, revision techniques and creative literacy, and will encourage learners to think about moving up and on. The sessions also help develop learners’ problem-solving skills, raise their aspirations and build their confidence, as well as helping them understand the progression routes ahead of them.
